See the camera manual for information on camera operations. If the upgrade includes two sets of firmware A and B , upgrade the A firmware first and then repeat steps 4—5 below to upgrade the B firmware. There is no need to repeat these steps if the upgrade includes only one set of firmware A or B.

Important The camera may be damaged if power is interrupted or camera controls are operated during the update. Do not turn the camera off, remove or disconnect the power source, or operate camera controls during the update. If the update is not completed successfully and the camera becomes inoperable, take the camera to a Nikon-authorized service representative for inspection.

A computer equipped with a card reader or card slot, or a computer and a USB cable compatible with the camera. A Nikon-approved memory card that has been formatted in the camera note that all data on the memory card will be deleted when the card is formatted; before formatting the card, back up any data you wish to keep to a computer or other device. Check the current camera firmware version. Select Firmware version in the setup menu.

Download and extract the new firmware. If the latest firmware version is already installed on your camera, you need not proceed with download or installation of this Firmware Upgrade. The current firmware version can be verified from the Firmware version item in the camera's setup menu.

DMG file from the links at the bottom of this page to the folder created in step 1. If the camera was connected to the computer, use standard OS procedures to disconnect the camera from the computer. If any provision of the Agreement shall be determined invalid for any reason, the remaining provisions shall not be invalidated and shall remain in full force and effect.

This Agreement sets forth the entire agreement and understanding between you and Nikon, and supersedes and replaces any other agreements relating to the subject matter of this Agreement.

The failure of any party to insist upon strict performance of any of the terms or provisions of this Agreement, or the exercise of any option, right or remedy contained herein, shall not be construed as a waiver of any future application of such term, provision, option, right or remedy, and such term, provision, option, right or remedy shall continue and remain in full force and effect.

The headings of the sections of this Agreement are inserted for convenience only and shall not constitute a part hereof or affect in any way the meaning or interpretation of this Agreement. Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, the provisions of section 3 and section 4 together with any provisions that by their express terms apply to periods after termination of this Agreement, shall survive termination of this Agreement for any reason.
